Aspex Eyewear’s EasyClip technology gives you eyeglasses and sunglasses in the same stylish frame with removable polarized lenses that go on and off with one easy click. EasyClip utilizes only rare-earth neodium magnets that have ten times the magnetic attraction of standard ferrous magnets. Empower’s composite lens utilizes electro-optics (a lens whose optical properties may be changed or modified with the application of electricity) to adjust the focus with a smooth instantaneous transition that takes less than a second. The lenses, formed from nematic or cholesteric liquid crystal components, function in tandem with an electrical contact layer of indium tin oxide.
The wearer can adjust the lens focus easily and subtly by simply tapping or sliding a finger along the arm of the eyeglass frame. For added convenience, every Empower frame incorporates a micro-accelerometer, a tiny sensor capable of detecting forward and backward motion (as in when a someone lowers their head to read) and adjusting the prescription strength as needed. TurboFlex from Aspex Eyewear is able to twist in any direction 360° to ensure maximum durability and comfort. Whereas Nickel/Titanium frames will eventually lose their flexibility and shape- retention, EasyTwist®’s frames withstand the test of time and bounce back into shape even after extensive periods of use. In addition, due to their unique molecular composition, EasyTwist® frames are more resistant to stress, shock, corrosion and extreme changes in temperature.
The memory metal capabilities of Trilaston also allow it to accept a wider range of finishes than its nickel/titanium counterparts. Furthermore, while nickel/titanium frames are known for losing their finishes and becoming dull, EasyTwist®’s Trilaston frames never lose their luster.
